In another bid to emphasise the importance of social distancing, MLA Kiren Rijiju shared a picture where monkeys were seen sitting at a distance from each in two rows at a highway in Arunachal Pradesh.
The picture may be purely coincidental but was shared with the intention to stress on the importance of maintaining a distance from one another, amid a pandemic.
In the picture, man can be seen offering bananas and watermelon slices to the monkeys. While some of them are busy eating the fruits, others patiently wait for their turn.
A perfect #SocialDistancing seen near Bhalukpong in Arunachal Pradesh along Assam-Arunachal boundary. If we observe carefully, animals can teach us many vital lessons that we may have missed in the haste of our normal daily lives.

A few days ago, Rijiju shared a video of authorities in Manipur distributing relief materials while maintaining social distancing norms. The video shows people taking what they need while walking past stalls which were well stocked. All the while, the rules of distancing were being adhered to.
¡°Don't show useless concocted stories like snake eating. Show beautiful, cultured behavior & disciplined conduct during lockdown in the North-Eastern State of Manipur! The thing to observe here is maintaining dignity & convenience for everyone while distributing relief materials.

According to the World Health Organisation, social distancing involves maintaining a distance of 3 feet between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing to stop the spread of the highly contagious coronavirus. "When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease," the agency explained on its website.
