Face-To-Face On Flight? Woman Outraged Over 'Awkward' Plane Seat Design Demands Explanation
Seats on a regional airline in Sweden baffle an American woman. She outrages in a viral video, questioning the thought behind keeping face-to-face seats on a plane.
Social flying, is it? A woman from Chicago, US, was bewildered when she got the chance to ride a plane in Europe. Megan Homme was completely shocked when she went on a regional Swedish airline and saw that the seat layout was quite different from what she was used to back in the States.
US Woman Disapproves Of Face-To-Face Flight Seats In Sweden
To her surprise and that of many others on the Internet, this flight in Sweden had seats that placed passengers face-to-face, similar to the layout of a local train. While it may be common in many countries to sit facing other passengers in local trains or even buses, such a layout on a plane has been a new discovery for thousands who watched Homme¡¯s video.
In the short clip Homme posted, she captured her outraged expression after having sat down at her assigned seat and realising that she had opted for one that faced other passengers.
The video showed how close the two rows were situated, as the vlogger could almost touch her knees with the passenger sitting right in front of her. The people sitting in front of her were also quietly doing their own thing and not disturbing each other. One woman was intently buried in her novel while the man sitting in front of her kept his body safe, carefully making sure that he was not reaching for the seat before him.
The Passengers Sitting In Front Of The Influencer Were Respectful
Although, from the looks of it, the passengers sitting across from Homme¡¯s were sweethearts and respectful of her space, the thought of sitting facing someone else tens of metres high in the sky was still rather unsettling.
Normally, people would have their own private rows that would face nothing but the back of another passenger¡¯s seat. However, this regional plane in Sweden challenged these foreigners to sit through the whole flight while getting their space invaded.
Folks on the internet were, you guessed it, outraged. Many never knew that such a seat layout on planes was designed or even approved. One wondered who in their right mind would keep people facing each other while riding an aluminium air bus.
Some wondered how it would feel to take off and land while facing the opposite direction as the plane. Others immediately refused the idea of riding such a plane. Some users mentioned how the flight could be as awkward as attending a blind date you were trapped into.
