Man Sets Guinness World Record By Driving Fastest Garbage Bin Motor Car

Many land, water, air speed records have been set by various people in the past, and someone or the other is preparing to break those as we speak. However, there are some who take the road less travelled, and make records which are bizarre, to say the least.

Like the new Guinness World Record set by an eccentric design engineer from the UK who surprisingly set record in a motorised garbage bin. Talk about unique vehicles!

28-year-old Andy Jennings took an old garbage bin and transformed it into a racing motor, adding a motorbike engine, gearbox, steering and a seat to it. Andy managed speeds of over 60 km/hr while riding the motorised bin. At the beginning of the event the Guinness World Records officials who attended it said that Andy had to break speeds of over 48 km/hr in order to set a new world record. Andy exceeded that target and his top speed was 69 km/hr.

According to reports, the race was organised by motorsport racing company Straightliners, and was held at Elvington airfield in northeast England on Sunday.

Reportedly Andy said he had a great day and was happy with his result of 69 km/hr., which was well above the target speed of 48 km/hr. Once he got to the end of the runway, spectators cheered for him.

Andy attributed his world record to his friend Ben Ellis, who had passed away in June.

Other records broken at the event were the world¡¯s fastest motorized toilet, world¡¯s fastest garden and a wheelbarrow.

Jason Liversidge reached a top speed of 104 km/hr in a motorized wheelchair. He participated in the event despite being 95% paralysed.

Meanwhile in India, Arathi Reghunath, a second-year MSc Biochemistry student of MES College, utilised the lockdown in a way some of us only procrastinated. She completed 350 online courses in the last three months. The girl who resides in Elamakkara in Kochi, made a world record at the Universal Record Forum.
