Hikers Claim They Captured A 'Ghost' In Their Picture, But There's More To It Than Meets The Eye

If it's not a ghost in the picture, then what do you think it is?

An eerie photograph, taken by a hiker in Dundas Peak in Ontario, Canada, has gone viral because people are convinced that they can see a ghost.

It all began when Reddit user SlicedUpBeef started posting photos of a trip she took to the beautiful Canadian region with some friends.

The story actually starts with SlicedUpBeef's friend's cousin. Apparently, he had hiked to the peak a few days beforehand and posted this picture of himself on Instagram.

¡°Way below the edge of the trail, where the slope is too steep to stand on, there appears to be a thin person standing unnaturally straight with no visible face," SlicedUpBeef explained on Reddit.

"I know you¡¯re probably thinking that is probably just a brave hiker, but trust me, that spot is completely inaccessible," the post said.

"Maybe it isn¡¯t a person? But I¡¯m not sure what else it can be. I was hoping those who have also been to Dundas Peak and have taken a similar picture could share it," it added.

Adding to the spooky theory, users from Reddit claimed that authorities in the area have reported a sharp increase in the number of people who have gone missing on the peak - with most of them never found, news.com.au reported.

The pictures went viral on Reddit which led to a huge number of users speculating what the figure could be.

Everybody¡¯s interest was immediately piqued, because nothing fires up the internet like a potential ghost. So, SlicedUpBeef decided to return to the exact same spot with her friends. However, even though the location and angle was the same, the spooky figure seemed to have disappeared.

But then the plot thickened. Apparently while SlicedUpBeef and her friends were at the site attempting to recreate the photo, the light suddenly caught a glimmer of something below them. On a branch just below the ledge they were perched on, they spotted a set of keys dangling.

One of the group lent over and retrieved the keys to find they were for a Hyundai Elektra.

As they made their way back to their vehicle they found that they were parked next to the only other car in the car park - a Hyundai Elektra.

The car was dirty and looked like it had been sitting there a while. As it was getting dark the tourists decided to leave the keys on top of the car roof and made their way home.

But a week later, they saw the car being featured on the news.

A police report said a female tourist had gone missing in the area and despite her car being found in the car park, her whereabouts was a mystery.

The missing woman was described as tall and was wearing a light grey jumper and jeans when she went missing. To make it even creepier, that's similar to the figure in the image.
