Amid Tensions With China, Indian Air Force Continues Night Time Readiness Operations Over Eastern Ladakh
While the border tension with China goes on, the Indian Air Force is successfully carrying out night-time sorties. Apache attack chopper, MiG-29 fighter aircraft and Chinook heavy-lift helicopter can be seen conducting night operations near the India and China border.
Amid talks of disengagement between India and China, the Indian Army remains on high alert. It is reportedly continuing with intensive night time operations at a forward base near the Line of Actual Control.

The IAF MiG-29 fighter aircraft and Sukhoi-30MKI, along with the Apache attack helicopter and Chinook heavy-lift helicopters conducted night sorties at the forward bases near India-China border to keep an eye over the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the aftermath of the Galwan Valley clashes between Indian and the Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh last month.

A senior fighter pilot said that the IAF is fully trained and ready to undertake entire spectrum of operations in any environment with the help of "modern platforms and motivated personnel."

"Night operations have an inherent element of surprise. IAF is fully trained and ready to undertake the entire spectrum of ops in any environment with the help of modern platforms & motivated personnel," Group Captain A Rathi was quoted as saying by ANI.

The sources said both the Army and the IAF will maintain their high alert level along the Line of Actual Control even as China has begun pulling back troops from several areas as part of a mutual disengagement process.
The disengagement process began on Monday morning after a nearly two-hour telephonic conversation between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday during which they agreed on an expeditious withdrawal of troops from the area. Doval and Wang are Special Representatives for the boundary talks.

In the last few days, the IAF significantly enhanced deployment of its frontline jets, attack helicopters and transport fleet in all its key bases guarding the airspace along the LAC in view of heightened border tension with China, claim reports.
