Man Almost Married Wrong Woman After Being Led To Wrong Venue By Google Maps
The comical mix-up came about after the groom and his entourage relied too heavily on Google Maps. What a mistake to make!
While technology has made life so much more easier, it can be forgiven for not being 100% accurate. It solves so many problems, and like humans, it's prone to errors. That's how the world works.
However, for a groom in Indonesia, a navigation blunder on Google Maps, almost led him to marrying a wrong woman. The comical mix-up came about after the groom and his entourage relied too heavily on Google Maps. What a mistake to make!
The comedy of errors didn't end there as no one seemed to realise
until much later that they were at the wrong venue.
Not realising the mistake, the bride's family even went as far as exchanging gifts with the man, all while the bride was busy getting her make-up done, Malay Mail reported.
According to Indonesian portal Tribunnews, there were two ceremonies ¨C a wedding and an engagement ¨C in the same village on Sunday which led to the confusion.
The 27-year-old bride Ulfa told the portal that she was initially unaware the man had entered the wrong house as she was being attended to by the make-up artist.
¡°But my family welcomed them and they proceeded to exchange gifts,¡± she said.
¡°They said they were led to the house by Google Maps,¡± she added, adding that before leaving, they apologised for the mix up.
Coincidentally, Ulfa¡¯s actual fianc¨¦ and his group were late to the party as they had to stop to look for a toilet.
We are still confused how the groom himself didn't realise the blunder (perhaps it was an arranged marriage?) but we're glad that Ulfa and the lost groom are happily married to their respective partners now.
Oh Google Maps, that was a close shave.
