Indians Flock To Manali, The Internet Churns Out Fresh Memes That Will Crack You Up
Several pictures of Manali streets have been surfacing online showing how it is filled with thousands of people right after the 2nd wave. People make memes on it.
Update: One of the pictures of a crowded street in Manali was actually old. Alt News, a fact-checking website found out that the picture was not taken recently and that the snapshot was actually taken on December 31, 2020, which was last year's new year eve day. The fact-checking website also found out author Amigosblink post containing the same image.
Soon after the Himachal Pradesh government eased lockdown restrictions and opened its gates to tourists after the second wave, thousands of Indians came flocking to the hills. They all forgot that the pandemic is not over and the possibility of a third wave is still looming over our heads.
Pictures of the same are surfacing on the internet where the streets of Manali are heavily crowded by Indian tourists. Shimla Hotel and Restaurant Association president Sanjay Sood said the withdrawal of the condition of negative RTPCR report and e-covid pass to enter Himachal Pradesh recently has given a boost to the tourism industry of the state.
However, the pictures of a heavily crowded street in Manali has caused a lot of critisism and concern among people. People are mentioning how there are no beds in hotels just like there were no beds in the hospitals during peak covid times and this event can lead us back there in no time.
If the 3rd wave arrives and causes havoc than special thanks to these people. Covid appropriate behaviour wasn't followed because of which 2nd wave striked.#Manali #CovidIndia pic.twitter.com/THA71x2xFA

Night curfews and weekend curfews still prevail in Himachal Pradesh. However, we wish that people don't forget taking precautions and avoid going out during these times as much as possible.
