When it comes to saving money by being jugaadu, people come up with the most innovative and cost efficient ways. Almost a month ago, there was literally nothing trending on Facebook and Instagram except for the ways people were using noodles to fix literally everything from their washbasins, to cracks in furniture, to their broken hearts.
Similarly you might come across at least one video a day where you see a person making their life easier, by doing one crazy but cost efficient shit or another.
To avoid being ticketed, a Colorado man ingeniously fixed the broken tail light of his vehicle.
The Longmont police noticed that a man had placed a red-colored sports drink in a bottle in place of his truck's rear light and they stopped him. Apparently the man was actually on his way to get the same broke tail light repaired when he was stopped by officials in Longmont, 61 kilometres north of Denver.
Commenting on the unusual method of fixing the tail light the police reportedly said, "While we appreciate the ingenuity of this tail light, this is not a permanent solution."
Whatever be the case the truck driver successfully avoided getting a ticket but he also reportedly said that he was not trying to fool anyone.
Well, now you know a temporary jugaad to avoid getting challaned when your tail light is broken - fit in a bottle of Rooh afza there. However, don't try to be too smart and not get your tail lights fixed at all.
Speaking of jugaad, a video of a creative ¡®hydraulic door closer' went viral on the Internet sometime ago, thanks to Anand Mahindra who took to Twitter to post it. He even praised the creativity of the mastermind who came up with this genius idea.
The video shows how a simple bottle filled with water could be used to create a hydraulic door. The water bottle with a string was tied at the top of the door, and every time someone opened the door, it automatically shut because of the weight of the bottle.
My #whatsappwonderbox is filled with examples of modest, but out-of-the-box thinking applied to everyday problems. This person spent just ?2 to rig this door closure versus ?1500 for a hydraulic one! How do we channel this creativity so that we move from Jugaad to Jhakaas! pic.twitter.com/azla5WoyjI

When it comes to jugaad, no one pulls it off like Indians do. In another case, a farmer found a way to lessen his burden and make his life easier. The video below shows the farmer sitting on a device that is attached to a coconut tree and upon pressing a button, the device goes up in a controlled motion, making it easier for him to pick coconuts.

Well, I can only be in awe of the genius of these people. But we can all learn a thing or two.
