The Railways' plan for a special 'Karwa Chauth' express has come to a crashing halt after only two couples booked tickets on the 78-seater, sources said.
'The Majestic Rajasthan Deluxe,' for married couples only, came with special extras like a shower cubicles and foot massages. The IRCTC had made arrangements for children too.
Officials said low turnout could be due to Rs 1,02,960 per couple fare in AC first tier and Rs 90,090 in AC 2 Tier for the five-day tour, reports PTI.
In its promotional message, IRCTC had said, "This Karwa Chauth, give your wife a special gift which she will remember for ages." Turns out, it will still remain just a dream for many.
The Majestic Rajasthan Deluxe was launched to provide a 'dream holiday' to couples for a five-day tour of Rajasthan. According to NDTV, only two couples booked tickets on the train which has 78 seats.

The train, part of the Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation's or IRCTC's promotional offers, was to depart from the Safdarjung station in Delhi on October 14 and visit historical sites in Rajasthan, states PTI.
