Caught On CCTV: Kerala Cop Steals Mangoes From Shop, Booked After Footage Goes Viral?

Instead of keeping the community safe, he was stealing mangoes. A case has been registered against a Kerala cop after CCTV footage showed him stealing mangoes from a store in Kanjirapally at midnight.

The accused, identified as Shihab, is a police officer stationed at Idukki AR camp.

Shihab was returning home at midnight when he stopped his scooter in front of a shop and, after realising there was no one nearby, he did something you would never expect from a public servant. The CCTV visuals showed him stealing 10 kg of mango worth Rs 600 from a shop.

As he was putting the mangoes in the space under the seat of his scooter, he was seen frequently checking his surroundings.

He left the place after filling up the storage space of his two-wheeler.

He was completely unaware that the whole act was being caught on CCTV from a nearby shop. The officer was in uniform while committing the theft.

According to mathrubhumi.com, police could not initially identify the person as he had worn a helmet and raincoat. However, the vehicle number was recognizable, which led to Shihab.

Shahib is reportedly on the run and the Kanjirappally police have registered a case against him and have launched a manhunt to nab him.

Bihar cops steal fan from a house

A bizarre incident was reported from the Bhagalpur district of Bihar last month, where a police team on night patrol stole a fan lying in the verandah of a house. The incident reportedly took place in the Dholbazza area of the district.

The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera. The video footage shows the police patrolling party stopping their vehicle outside a house and taking the fan away from the house. Needless to say, the video went viral on social media.

As per reports, fan owner Subodh Choudhary complained about the incident to the police, who refused to commit the crime. He was forced out of the police station. The incident reportedly took place on September 26.

Subodh asked the locals about it and finally got to know that the theft was carried out by the policemen, as reported by the local Hindi daily Prabhat Khabar.

When Subodh went to the police station, he was told that no cops were involved in the crime. However, the cops had to return the fan after he showed them the CCTV footage.
