A YouTuber from Kerala is in hot water after attempting a risky stunt inspired by a popular Malayalam film that went wrong. Sanju Techy, the YouTuber in question, transformed a moving automobile into a makeshift swimming pool by lining it with a tarpaulin sheet and filling it with water, all in an attempt to recreate a scene from the film 'Aavesham'.
What did the YouTuber do in the video?
In the video, Sanju and his friends are shown swimming in their makeshift pool inside the car, sipping soft coconut water as they drive along a busy road.
Their antics rapidly drew the attention of bystanders and, shortly after, the authorities. Many people found it humorous and unsettling to see an automobile double as a swimming pool.
When did it become a problem?
The trouble began when water began to flow into the driver's seat and engine. Panicked, Sanju told his companion, who was driving, to open the door and empty the water from their pool on wheels.
They halted the automobile in the middle of the road, letting out the water and created a big traffic jam. This impromptu pool party descended into chaos, with water overflowing the street and causing severe disruption.
How did the police react to the incident?
The footage of this stunt rapidly went viral, prompting severe criticism from both the public and authorities. The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) took note and summoned Sanju Techy.
He was charged with six charges, including dangerous driving and producing a public nuisance, and was scheduled to appear before the Enforcement Road Transport Officer on Wednesday. ¡°They dumped the water from the car into the road in a reckless manner, presenting major safety concern to other vehicle users in the road," a senior MVD official told reporters.
The action endangered not just those engaged, but also other motorists forced to manage the unexpected water on the busy road.
As a result, Sanju and three other passengers in the automobile were sentenced to perform community service at the Government Medical College Hospital for one week and participate in the department's training program.
