Man Built An Entire Island To Win Girlfriend Back, It Was A Total Fail As She Turned Him Down

Xu, a 30-year-old man from China built an entire island for his ex-girlfriend in a bid to win her back.

While the gesture failed to win back the heart of his ex-girlfriend, it has now become a hotspot for other couples looking for a romantic place to meet and has turned into a popular tourist attraction in Hetou village, Yingde city, in the south Chinese province of Guangdong, reports LadBible.

The island, located in Hetou village in Yengde city, has now become a popular attraction among those looking for a romantic place to meet.

After the couple called it quits in 2020, Xu moved to his hometown in the countryside to take care of his elderly parents.

A heartbroken Xu wasn't ready for that to be the end and spent more than a hundred thousand yuan (Rs 11,15,942) on the magical makeover of a tiny deserted island, hiring a team to build an arch bridge that leads to the romantic spot.

The builders he hired for the work built an arch bridge and adorned the entire island with beautiful colours and flowers. The island covers an area of just 20-30 square meters but is covered with pink grass, cherry trees, peach trees, and other symbols of love.

The place also has a swing in the middle of the island, along with a path that is paved with heart-shaped stones. After beginning the project back in December, Xu completed the island in January.

The island is currently open to the public for free and welcomes tourists from near and far, according to an official in the village.
