Delivered In 30 Minutes? Apparently Not! UK Man Complains To Police Because His Pizza Delivery Was Late
According to reports, the man waited for 30 minutes before losing his patience, and complaining to the police about his delayed order. It is still unclear whether it was a prank played by the man or if he genuinely expected the police officials to take action in this matter.
Waiting for food to be delivered is something most of us have experienced and to be honest, no one particularly enjoys it. While some people have the patience to wait for it if the order is getting delayed, others usually call up the restaurant or the delivery partner to enquire about it.
However, this person took it many steps ahead and called the cops when his pizza order was taking too long.
According to reports, the man waited for 30 minutes before losing his patience, and complaining to the police about his delayed order. It is still unclear whether it was a prank played by the man or if he genuinely expected the police officials to take action in this matter.
The Englishman phoned 999 to complain about his order, reported Metro.co.uk. The Essex police department was baffled when they received the phone call, and could not determine whether it was a joke or if the man was actually serious about his complaint.
This led the Essex police department to put out a warning to the public over 'inappropriate' calls to their 999 crew which is meant to handle emergencies and serious complaints.
The Metro report added that call handlers in the Force Control Room (FCR) received more than 480 calls via 101 on Friday. 987 calls were made to Essex Police using 999 but only 237 were actually considered an emergency.
Several people called the emergency line to abuse the call handlers, or ask them the time, added the report.
Chief superintendent Stuart Hooper said: ¡®I¡¯d like to thank those people who contacted us yesterday through the channel that was most appropriate for their call. By doing so, you are freeing up our call handlers so that they can provide an almost instant response for people who find themselves in a real emergency and need to dial 999."
"Calling 999 must be a last resort and you should only use this service if you are reporting an emergency that requires an immediate and urgent police response," added the Chief superintendent.
