'Disgusting': Man Finds 'Large Amount' Of Human Poop In His Online Grocery Order Of Rs 15,000
Phil Smith, a 59-year-old online shopper in Blackburn, England, received an unpleasant surprise when his $186 (Rs 15,000) grocery order from Iceland spilled out human poop along with the expected groceries.
In the age of convenience, online grocery shopping has become a staple, offering a hassle-free way to stock up on essentials without leaving the comfort of our homes.
The ease of ordering groceries with just a few clicks has transformed the way we approach household tasks, making our lives more efficient and convenient.
However, recent incidents highlight that, despite the convenience, unexpected and unpleasant surprises can still occur in online grocery orders, prompting a closer look at the reliability of this modern convenience.
Where did it happen?
Phil Smith, a 59-year-old online shopper in Blackburn, England, received an unpleasant surprise when his $186 (Rs 15,000) grocery order from Iceland spilled out human poop along with the expected groceries.
What happened?
Smith had a harrowing experience when he excitedly opened his online grocery delivery and found an unpleasant surprise he wasn't expecting. "All this poo fell out, and I was totally shocked. I thought, 'What on Earth is this?'" recounted Smith to SWNS.
The customer clearly stated that a bad incident made their experience with Iceland's online ordering platform unpleasant so they won't use it again.
"There are no other words. If I wanted to be covered in s¨Ct, I would go on 'I'm A Celebrity,'" quipped the squeamish Smith.
Upset by the troubling find, Smith contacted Iceland, urging them to deal with the problem quickly. Yet he wasn't happy with their first response.
"Over the past few days, they have just been flippant with me."
Even after being given store credits, Smith insisted on getting a refund and removing the contaminated items. Unfortunately, this process took several days, making the customer even more upset.
How did the authorities react?
To take things further, Smith called a health inspector to investigate the local Iceland branch.
In response, the company stated they are conducting an internal investigation into the unsettling discovery of human waste in the delivered groceries, as reported to SWNS.
This situation is part of a series of strange delivery mishaps. One example is a man in Brooklyn who got someone else's ashes in the mail last winter. A TikTok user also received new boots that were already worn and dirty in a gross way.
