Man Uses Green Screen To 'Trick' Colleagues Into Thinking He's Working From Home While Holidaying In Italy

A man holidaying in Italy used a green screen to 'trick' his colleagues into thinking that he was working from the comfort of his home.

In a video, which was posted on TikTok by travel group EF Ultimate Break, a man walks over to a small table in a cafe, sits down, and gets his laptop out.

"Can we make our team believe we're working from home with a DIY green screen when we're actually in Italy?" the onscreen text said.

The man can be then cunningly seen putting a small green screen behind him.

He then nonchalantly attended a virtual meeting with his colleagues, giving them every indication that he was working from home.

His novel idea of using a green screen ensured that instead of the background that would have given away buildings, tourists, and cobblestone ground, it made it look more like a living room with yellow walls decorated with pictures in frames and a reddish curtain.

People took to the comments to have their say - and not everyone approved of the method.

"I just don't turn on my camera or use one of the preset filters," one user commented.

"No way he is in a meeting with all that background noise. But if so, share the secret of what you do when you need to interact," another user said.

"I took a pic of my house and made it my zoom background when I was in Spain," a third user said.

McDonald joked that the work-from-home tip was his way of showing that he¡¯s ¡°active¡± on his professional and online platforms. ¡°When your boss requires you to be ¡®active¡¯ online throughout the day,¡± the text over the video reads.
