An art installation in Miami, Florida, is taking the internet by storm. The New York-based art collective MSCHF has set up quite an innovative stall at the 2022 Art Basel in Miami Beach, where they unraveled their new project called the ATM leaderboard.
New York Art Collective Introduced Innovative ATM Leaderboard
Previously, the art collective had shocked viewers both online and in person as they opened up an art stall called "Eat the Rich" and sold popsicles inspired by the faces of different billionaires. The art installation is an actual ATM that displays the current balances of people on a large LED screen, just like arcade scores.
The banking outlet ranks people in order of return on the basis of their balance. Furthermore, the ATM even displays a photo of the person besides their account balance, which is captured by its camera. The video posted on Twitter of the leaderboard shared that the highest-ranking individual was a bearded man who was the owner of a whopping USD 2.9 million. They also mention in the video that the board can go as low as 0 dollars, with people ranking in the 79th or 80th place.

The Board Was Installed To Display Wealth-Flaunting Impulses
The person making the video explained the whole process and revealed that although the ATM had been a popular hot spot at the exhibition, people were hesitant to put their cards inside the machine. The co-founder of MSCHF, Daniel Greenberg, told CNN, ¡°ATM Leaderboard is an extremely literal distillation of wealth-flaunting impulses."
He went on to explain, "From its conception, we had mentally earmarked this work for a location like Miami Basel, a place where there is a dense concentration of people renting Lamborghinis and wearing Rolexes. These are analogous implicit gestures to the ATM Leaderboard's explicit one."
Like every other viral video, the post garnered a lot of hilarious reactions from folks on the internet as they joked about being among the lowest-ranking people.
