Mumbai: Two Groups Fight Over Momos In Powai, Brings Back Memories of Baghpat Chaat Clash

A massive fight erupted between two groups in Mumbai's Powai, over momos. The popular Tibetan-Nepalese savoury snack was at the centre of ugly brawl in Shankaracharya Marg area of Powai.
The incident took place around 11 pm on Monday, April 11, India Today reported. A video of the bawl that has gone viral shows people punching and hitting each other with sticks.
While vehicles and onlookers were passing by, the two groups continued to indulge in a violent clash.
The situation turned unsavory, and it took the intervention of the police to separate the two groups from attacking each other.
As many as four accused have been arrested, as per the India Today report.
The fight, which created ruckus in the area is currently being investigated by police.
Previously, a video of two groups fighting over customers for chaat in Uttar Pradesh had become the toast of the internet.
The incident took place last year in February. An aggressive brawl had broken out in the state's Baghpat district and workers of two chat stalls in the Atithi Bhavan market area over wanting to get more customers to their respective shops.
The men were armed with iron rods and sticks - they used the weapons to thrash each other during a fight which lasted for 20 minutes or so before it was stopped.

The fight, if unpleasant, was successful in making one of the men involved in the fight famous. Harendra, who was dubbed by social media users as chacha, became fodder for meme makers.
People thought he was a lookalike of the great physicist Albert Einstein or Viru Sahastrabuddhe aka Virus played by Boman Irani from the Bollywood film 3 Idiots.

giving it as much as he got during the fight - a kick for a kick and a hit for a hit.
12 people were injured in the clash and eight were arrested, the Baghpat police had said at that time. Fortunately, no one sustained any serious injuries in the clash.
