Mystery Guys Tie Thieves To Lamp Post & Paint Their Faces Like The Joker
These incidents are not just isolated to Mexico. A few days back, a California-based vigilante who refers to himself as 'Bruce Wayne' claimed he caught a double-murder suspect.
A group of vigilantes have been taking the law into their own hands after they tied up thieves to lampposts and painted their faces like the Joker - the famous villain from DC Comics.
Now, these vigilantes or members of a self-appointed group of citizens who undertake law enforcement in their community without legal authority have been doing this act in a Mexican city.
They have been doing this roundup in the Mexican city in complete secrecy i.e. they aren't revealing their identities to the common citizens and just doing a job they think is pretty righteous.
If you're at all a fan of pop fiction, you'd know a hero who actually does this kind of work in comic books. Bruce Wayne aka Batman. It sure does seem these self-appointed 'heroes' have taken some inspiration from it.
Footage and pictures of criminals painted as jokers have been doing the rounds on the internet. One picture posted to Twitter was of a man and woman who had reportedly been caught trying to steal someone's purse in Rio Bravo over the weekend.
The woman named Luz Magalay, was able to break free from the restraints. But just as she tried to untie her partner, a police patrol car spotted them.
The suspects were tied with duct tape in the border city and made to stand on opposite sides of a lamp post at a street intersection. Both of them had their face painted by the vigilante(s). The male suspect had the words "soy rata (I am a thief)" spray-painted across his chest. The same words appeared on the woman's head.
"I went after the woman. I took her purse. It was easy. I grabbed the purse to flee. Right now there is no work and there is no money. It was easy for me to do that," the male suspect said in a video.
In another incident, a group of men were seen walking shirtless in a line while having their hands tied to one another. Their faces too were painted like the Joker.
However, this is not just the case in Mexico, a California-based vigilante, who calls himself the 'Stockton Batman', caught a guy who has a double-murder suspect.
What do you think about these self-proclaimed heroes?
