The US Defense Department has confirmed that leaked photos and video of "unidentified aerial phenomena" (UAP) taken in 2019 were legitimate and taken by a navy personnel.
The photos and videos were gathered by the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Task Force and leaked to filmmaker Jeremy Corbell.
One of the videos recorded in 2019 shows what appears to be pyramid shaped objects hovering above a Navy destroyer, according to Mystery Wire.
The Pentagon confirmed in a statement this week that the leaked photos and videos were captured by US navy personnel, though it declined to label them Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) ¡ª the government¡¯s official term for a UFO.
Pentagon spokeswoman Sue Gough admitted in a statement to CNN, the sighting of three unidentified flying objects - one "sphere" shaped, another "acorn" shaped and one characterized as a "metallic blimp".
"To maintain operations security and to avoid disclosing information that may be useful to potential adversaries, DOD does not discuss publicly the details of either the observations or the examinations of reported incursions into our training ranges or designated airspace, including those incursions initially designated as UAP," Gough said in the statement.

Perhaps the most startling capture was recorded on video from the deck of the Navy destroyer USS Russell, which appears to show several unidentified flying triangles ¡°flashing¡± in the clouds off the coast of San Diego. The brief video was shot through a night-vision camera in July of 2019.
As per CNN, US intelligence agencies have been directed to give unclassified reports about UAP's to Congress in June.
