The unusual performance style captures women dancing on stage and moving as if they are almost floating in the air. The video that has taken over the Internet these days is a performance by a female dance group known as Berezka Dance Ensemble. While performing this art form, the women take very small steps, which creates the illusion of them floating on air.
This ensemble was first founded in the Soviet Union in 1948. It was made by the Russian dancer and choreographer Nadezhda Nadezhdina. She was known for dancing in long robes while gliding across the stage, mesmerising the audience with her flair on stage. The dance step is popularly known as the "floating step."
