Watch: Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing Between Cars On A Highway In Canada
A small plane has made an emergency landing between cars on a highway in Quebec City Canada. The pilot of the Piper Cherokee aircraft called the Quebec City fire department asking for permission to land on the highway. Traffic was halted for less than an hour while emergency crews escorted the plane off the busy highway. Quebec provincial police later confirmed that a mechanical glitch on the plane forced the pilot to make the surprise landing.
It's been a month since Quebec (Canadian province) government started implementing restrictions in what some are calling the ¡°COVID lockdown¡± to help slow the spread of the virus.
The so-called 'lockdown' fairly cut down vehicular movement on the highway, so much so, a small plane could land amid traffic in Quebec.

Officials weren't able to say why the plane needed to land immediately.
"We received calls mentioning that an airplane was landing on westbound Highway 40," a police official was quoted as saying, "Fortunately, the aircraft landed without a collision, and then no one was injured. In fact, traffic was able to resume quickly in the area."
No injury has been reported. Traffic was halted for less than an hour while emergency crews escorted the plane off the busy highway. The Quebec provincial police later confirmed that a mechanical glitch on the plane forced the pilot to make the surprise landing.
Soon after the footage went viral, one user wrote, 'In awe at how orderly all of this is. Everyone just calmly slows down, puts their four-ways on, merges smoothly to the left lane. You'd think there'd be more freaking out over the fact a PLANE LANDED ON THE HIGHWAY.' Another wrote, 'I love that the drivers are tailgating the plane after it lands... I mean, wouldn't you stop and pull over once you saw it land?'

Just further proof that Canadians are so polite they¡¯ll let someone land a plane in the middle of their rush-hour commute. In Quebec, about 15,857 confirmed cases of COVID?19, including 630 deaths, have been reported.
