Afghan Policewoman, 6 Months Pregnant, Reportedly Killed By Taliban In Front Of Family
According to BBC an Afghan policewoman who was 6 months pregnant was killed in front of her husband and children by the Taliban.
As the Taliban took control of Afghanistan once again after 20 years, experts believe that Afghan women are most likely to face an uncertain future under the group's regime.
Recently, in a horrific incident that took place in Afghanistan, an Afghan policewoman was shot dead by the Taliban in front of her family in Firozkoh, the capital of central Ghor province, reported BBC.
This woman who was named Banu Negar was six months pregnant and was shot in front of her husband and children.
However, the Taliban told the BBC they had no involvement in Negar's death and are investigating the incident.
Spokesman Zabiullah Mujaheed said: "We are aware of the incident and I am confirming that the Taliban have not killed her, our investigation is ongoing."
He added that the Taliban had already announced an amnesty for people who worked for the previous administration, and put Negar's murder down to "personal enmity or something else".
Relatives supplied graphic images showing blood spattered on a wall in the corner of a room and a body, the face heavily disfigured. Three gunmen arrived at the house on Saturday and searched it before tying members of the family up, relatives say.
These developments came a few days after dozens of Afghan women held protests in Herat demanding rights and female representation in the government formation after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.
These brave women took to the streets in Kabul to protest against Taliban. They simplify asking for their rights, the right to work, the right for education and the right to political participation. The right to live in a safe society. I hope more women and men join them. pic.twitter.com/pK7OnF2wm2
