Shocking Footage Shows Tesla's Driver & Passenger Both Sleeping With The Car On Autopilot

Tesla offers two types of semi-autonomous technology, one is Autopilot and the other Full Self-Driving. Autopilot enables the car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically for other vehicles and pedestrians within its lane.
Full Self-Driving is more advanced and also offers additional features like Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, Autopark, Summon, and Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control.

Although authorities say that despite Tesla Motors cars being equipped with the Full Self Driving software, the drivers must still remain ready to take over at any time.
But many still take this warning lightly. More recently, a driver and passenger were both caught sleeping in a moving Tesla car. Although it was shared recently from the following handle, other sources suggest the video is from 2019.
The exact location from where this is taken is not known, but the footage has triggered a fierce debate on Twitter.

Tesla's partially automated driving system has previously been involved in other crashes.

In February 2020, the National Transportation Safety Board of US found that Tesla's partially automated driving system steered an electric SUV into a concrete barrier on a Silicon Valley freeway because it was operating under conditions it couldn't handle and because the driver likely was distracted by playing a game on his smartphone.

Last year, a Canadian man was sleeping away to glory with his Tesla on autopilot mode at 150km/hr.
Police in Alberta were alerted by another driver who dialled 911 to inform about a 2019 Tesla Model S speeding in the middle of the afternoon with two people in the front seats, both asleep.
The RCMP charged the driver with speeding and issued a 24-hour license suspension for fatigue, and a criminal code charge of dangerous driving was issued, according to CBC.
