Thief In Australia Gives Into Cravings And Steals Van With 10,000 Doughnuts Inside

Authorities are currently on the hunt for a daring doughnut thief who rode off on November 29 from a service station in a Krispy Kreme van in Australia.

Among the array of vehicles one might consider stealing, a van brimming with delectable desserts would undoubtedly rank high on the list of tempting targets.

Reportedly, the suspected burglar fled a service station in Carlingford, located northwest of Sydney, in a van carrying a staggering 10,000 doughnuts while the driver was inside settling payment around 3:30 am.

The van was en route to Newcastle, set for multiple deliveries encompassing a range of doughnuts, from Christmas-themed to the beloved classic variations.

Krispy Kreme said in a statement, ¡°Police are currently searching for the van and the sweet-toothed thief. It¡¯s believed she jumped into the van as the driver was inside the service station.¡±

People who were planning on getting to their nearby locations of the sweet chain in Newcastle would have had a rude realisation after finding out that most of the doughnuts did not make it to the locations for a fresh restock.

However, the staff involved tried their best to rectify the situation. Supply chain head Lenny Reddy said ¡°Our Krispy Kreme team is working to replace the 10,000 stolen doughnuts, which are handmade fresh each day, at their intended destinations.¡±

How Is The Search Going?

Authorities are actively seeking a woman matching the description of being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, in her early 30s, with long black or brown hair. She was reportedly attired in dark clothing and carrying a white handbag.
