Only In India: Thieves Conduct Puja Before Looting Cash & Gold Worth Rs 34 Lakh From Bank in Kerala
A couple of thieves from Kerala performed a puja before looting a bank and also left a note for the police.
Indians generally offer a prayer or conduct puja before starting a new venture or after buying something new - like a house or a car. It is considered to be a good omen. But ever heard about thieves conducting a puja before stealing? Well, it has happened in Kerala.
In Kerala¡¯s Kollam district, thieves displayed their religious side and conducted a ¡®puja¡¯ with liquor and betel leaves before looting a bank. After the said puja, the thieves stole gold worth Rs 30 lakh and cash worth Rs 4 lakh.
According to Manorama, the burglars stole from ¡®Pathanapuram Bankers¡¯, a private financial institution in Janata Junction, Pathanapuram. The theft was found by the owner of the financial institution, Ramchandran Nair. When he reached his firm at 9 am on Monday, he found 100 sovereigns of gold and the cash that was kept in two lockers were missing.
He mentioned the same in his police complaint. When the police went through their investigation, they found that a religious ritual was performed near the locker where the gold and cash were stored. There was also an image of a deity, a spear, and lime with yellow thread along with a note that read, ¡°I am dangerous, don¡¯t follow me.¡±
Human hair was also found all across the room to mislead police dogs. ¡°Apparently, the robbers reached the first floor of the three-storey building through the roof. After breaking the iron grills at the main entrance, they forced open the door,¡¯ said an officer to Manorama Online.
The robbers apparently used a cutter to open the lockers.
