A daredevil stunt went badly wrong after an attempt to swap planes in mid-air saw one aircraft spin out of control and plunging thousands of feet to the ground.
The stunt was sponsored by drinks company Red Bull, which is known for sponsoring extreme stunts. However on this occasion, things didn't go to plan as cousins Luke Aikins and Andy Farrington, from Arizona in the US, attempted the never-before-seen stunt only. Instead, one of the planes nosedived out of control and crashed.
The plan had been for the pair to fly their Red Bull-sponsored Cessna planes before leaving the aircraft and freefalling into the other plane, the New York Post reported.
While the stunt started well, seeing the cousins leap out of the aircraft and following a pre-prepared formation, Luke's plane soon lost control and nosedived to the ground.

Luckily neither man was injured in the flight, with Luke's plane tipping over the planned 90 degree dive, leaving Andy with no plane to commandeer.
Andy thankfully abandoned his plans of commandeering the failing aircraft and instead parachuted safely to the ground, while his cousin commandeered the remaining plane.
"It just went and instead of stopping in that 90-degree dive, it just kept going and got over on his back. It was just not a chance," Andy said.
Meanwhile, Luke was happy everybody was safe.
"I thought I left Andy a good plane. I'm trying to think of what else I could have done to make it better for him when I left. We do what we can to prepare for this stuff and we hope it never happens," Luke said.
"This is the best outcome of a bummer situation, really. You're just happy everybody's here and good and all that stuff, but just disappointed," he added.
Meanwhile, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced an investigation into Sunday¡¯s affair on Monday morning, also confirming that Farrington¡¯s craft crashed to the ground, according to NBC News.
¡°The agency on Friday denied the organizer¡¯s request for an exemption from Federal regulations that cover the safe operation of an aircraft.¡±
