Woman Gets Her Flatmate Evicted Because She Hadn't Bathed In Four Months
It's winter season and bathing seems like a task, doesn't it? Well, how long can you go without showering? A day or two maximum? Turns out, a girl hasn't bathed in four months.
When you live with someone, what they do, or in this case, don't, end up also having a massive impact on you. If someone you share a space with doesn't bathe, it can get quite tiresome and you won't be able to live with that for long.
Woman kicks out her flatmate for not bathing in four years
That's the situation one woman encountered when her flatmate was showing 'zero respect for personal hygiene'. The woman claimed that her flatmate did not have a shower for four months. Yes, you read that right!
The woman took to Reddit to share her ordeal of living with a roommate who didn't bother about personal hygiene.
"We've been living together for four months and I can't stand living with her anymore. She doesn't shower. In four months she hasn't showered once. However, she goes for a two-hour run every morning. I can't stand the smell anymore. It makes me sick to my stomach," she wrote.
"I tried to talk to her about it but she just brushes it off and says she'll shower but never does. Last week I told her that I can't stand the way she smells and how the apartment smells because of her so she either starts showering or I'll have her evicted," the woman said in her post.
She further said she contacted the landlord and explained the situation, and asked if he could evict her. She said the landlord came over and the second he stepped in she could see him trying not to throw up. The landlord told the woman that she had 30 days to move out or she will be removed by force.
"My roommate is furious and hasn't stopped calling me names. I don't think I'm in the wrong here but a couple of people told me that I'm being inconsiderate by having her evicted so close to Christmas and that she's in her first year of college and I may be interfering with her studies. So, am I the a**hole?" she concluded.
People react in shock to the viral Reddit post
The post has gone viral and garnered hundreds of comments.
"NTA. If she smells so bad that the apartment stinks to the point where the landlord is throwing up, that isn't normal. You talked to her, she did nothing," a person said.
"Lmao if the apartment reeks that badly, I¡¯d just ask the landlord to waive any fees incurred from breaking the lease and gtfo," a second person said.
"NTA. This young woman is horrible. If she doesn't change her ways, she might get thrown out of school for offensive body odor, and forget ever getting a job," another added.
