Woman Allegedly Received MDH Masala Boxes After Ordering Oral-B Electric Toothbrush Worth Rs 12,000 From Amazon
A recent example of this included a woman who ordered an electric toothbrush from the Amazon online store but received a large quantity of spices in its place.
The anonymity and convenience of the internet have made it easier for scammers to trick people into giving away their money or personal information. There are many different types of online scams, but some common ones include phishing scams, fake shopping websites, and advance fee scams.
It's important to be vigilant and cautious when shopping online and to take steps to protect yourself, such as only making purchases from reputable websites and avoiding responding to unsolicited emails or messages.
Customers have complained about receiving incorrect or phoney products via delivery apps on a number of occasions where they claim that online retailers have tricked them.
Woman orders Oral-B electric toothbrush receives MDH Masala instead
Dear @amazonIN, why haven¡¯t you removed a seller who¡¯s been scamming buyers for over a year? My mom ordered an Oral-B electric toothbrush worth ?12k, and received 4 boxes of MDH Chat Masala instead! Turns out seller MEPLTD has done this to dozens of customers since Jan 2022. pic.twitter.com/vvgf1apA38

A recent example of this included a woman who ordered an electric toothbrush from the Amazon online store but reportedly received a large number of spices in its place. That's not close at all! As a result, she posted about her issue on social media, prompting others to voice their own criticisms with the Amazon website.
Four boxes of MDH Chat Masala were delivered instead of the $12K Oral-B electric toothbrush her mother had bought, according to Twitter user @badassflowerbby. She posted a screen image of the seller's name along with a list of complaints they had received since January 2022. The woman added that her mother had placed a "Cash on Delivery" order and noticed it was strangely light, prompting her to open it before giving the delivery person the money.
The woman called out Amazon for not banning such sellers
The seller is keeps their listings ?1-3k lower than other sellers on big ticket items, which tempts more ppl to order from them. One may argue you should check seller feedback before ordering, but how many people do that? Esp as you have to click away from the listing to do so.

She criticised Amazon for allowing such sellers to keep selling on the web app even though she had been protected from the seller's fraudulent activity. ¡°Dear (Amazon), why haven¡¯t you removed a seller who¡¯s been scamming buyers for over a year? A user took to the comment section and highlighted, ¡°Amazon is very slow to respond to such complaints. I¡¯d ordered the Apple Pencil a year ago and got chopped wire bits + a ball point pen instead. Went to reviews and saw the seller had sent the EXACT same wires to a few other complainants before me. Shows the inaction." Here's what another user wrote.
