YouTuber Sneaks Portrait Into Louvre Museum To Hang It By Mona Lisa, Taken Into Custody By French Police
YouTubers JiDion and Niko Omilana attempt to pull off elaborate, impossibly difficult pranks. Niko had also accomplished it on his own before JiDions. JiDions was able to sneak in a painting of himself.
The Mona Lisa is a portrait painting by the Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci, widely considered to be one of the most famous paintings in the world. It was created in the early 16th century and depicts a woman, believed to be Lisa Gherardini, a noblewoman from Florence, Italy.
If you didn't already know, it is not allowed for anyone to go and hang their own artwork next to the Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum or any other museum where the painting is displayed. The Mona Lisa is a famous and valuable painting, and it is under the protection of the museum's security and curatorial staff.
It is a crime to tamper with or damage the Mona Lisa. The painting is considered a valuable cultural artefact and is protected by strict laws in France, where it is currently housed at the Louvre Museum in Paris. A YouTuber, of course, had to challenge the idea; here's what happened next.
Youtuber hangs portrait by Mona Lisa in Louvre museum
JiDion and Niko Omilana, YouTubers/pranksters, compete in a "menace-off" to pull off elaborate, impossible (for everyone else) pranks.
JiDion recently accepted Niko's challenge to smuggle a portrait of himself into the French Louvre, right next to the Mona Lisa. Niko had also accomplished it on his own before JiDion. JiDion did not defeat him either, though.
JiDion, with the aid of his accomplices, was able to not only sneak in a painting of himself, the "Clapped Lisa," right next to the Mona Lisa, but also to create a whole spectacle around it, which required heist-level meticulous planning. Unwary crowds flocked to the painting to take pictures with it. A tour guide also gave JiDion some made-up information about the Clapped Lisa.
The YouTuber was soon taken into custody by the French police
Security had to step in when things took a turn for the worse. JiDion did not stop there. He also made the decision to take the painting with him to up the ante on the practical joke. He simply tore it off the wall and left with it.
He was taken into custody by the French police after they intervened on skates. JiDion spent a day in custody. Niko protested even though it wasn't really necessary, holding up a sign that read, "Free Jid, French police are mid."
The following morning, JiDion was set free.
People on the internet found the prank hilarious. "Okay I find it halarious that the tour guide just started bullshitting because she was caught off guard. Top tier guide right there lol," wrote a user.
"Props to Jid for making the cameramen leave so that he was the only one in trouble. Says a lot about him," wrote another user.
¡°Free jid, French police are mid¡± surely there can¡¯t be just 2 episodes of this series. This collab is too elite," added another.
