Yograj Singh rekindles controversy, takes veiled jibe at MS Dhoni's captaincy era: 'We burnt whole house by standing for one person'
Yograj Singh reignited controversy by indirectly targeting former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni and selectors for dropping senior players like Yuvraj Singh after the 2011 World Cup. He claimed the team lost its unity post-Ganguly era, saying, ¡°We burnt the whole house for one person.¡±

Yograj Singh, the former India cricketer and father of all-round ex-cricketer icon Yuvraj Singh, is back again making headlines. This time, he once again targeted Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a.k.a. MS Dhoni, by making a controversial remark about the former Indian cricket captain.
The 67-year-old Yograj Singh has been a staunch critic of Dhoni, seemingly after Yuvraj Singh was dropped from the Indian team under the former's captaincy era.
Yuvraj was a consistent player for the player, especially in white-ball cricket, but after recovering from cancer, his appearances became less frequent during 'Thala's' captaincy.
What did Yograj Singh say about MS Dhoni?
During a recent interaction with InsideSport, Yograj opened up about the 'brotherly' culture in the Indian team during the Sourav Ganguly era, but things changed because of 'one man'. However, during the conversation, Yograj did not explicitly mention the name of the person, but all the signs indicated Dhoni.
"(We had) Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Javagal Srinath, Anil Kumble, and others. Bhajji (Harbhajan Singh), Yuvi (Yuvraj), Viru (Virender Sehwag), (Mohammed) Kaif, and Zaheer (Khan) among youngsters. "Combination of elder and younger brothers," quoted Yograj in the report.

"That's why they could lead the youngsters and become the greatest of all time. And what we did? We burned out the whole house by just standing for one person. I won't name him. Where is he? See what happened,¡± he added.
He did not stop there and went on to say that when people give love to Sachin, Yuvi, Gambhir and Viru, they will never go down the drain and will always be stars.
Yograj lashes out at BCCI
Yograj's controversial remarks have not come for the first time; before this, he has criticised Dhoni. In the same conversation, he also alleged that after Ganguli's era, the selectors had suddenly dropped several of the nation¡¯s top match-winners following the 2011 ODI World Cup victory.

Yograj reminisced about how many legendary players were not given a respectful farewell, with their departures managed poorly and without a sense of responsibility or dignity. ¡°You (BCCI selectors) just destroyed these boys for no reason,¡± Yograj quoted InsideSport.
¡°Boys like Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Mohammed Kaif, VVS Laxman, and Rahul Dravid. You just made them go after 2011."
