In a treat to fans of Hospital Playlist, co-stars Yoo Yeon Seok and Jung Kyung Ho are all set to reunite for Resident Playbook. The upcoming drama, a spinoff of Hospital Playlist, is slated to release in the second quarter of 2025.

Fresh off the success of his latest outing When the Phone Rings, Yoo Yeon Seok is set to make a cameo appearance in the Hospital Playlist spinoff, Resident Playbook, along with Jung Kyung Ho, who was last seen in the 2023 drama Crash Course in Romance.
According to a report by Star News, Yoo Yeon Seok and Jung Kyung Ho, who played leading roles in the 2020 medical drama, will make special appearances to enrich the upcoming drama. The report added that Resident Playbook will depict the hospital life and friendship stories of obstetrics and gynecology residents at Jongno Yulje Hospital, a branch of Yulje Hospital.

Yoo Yeon Seok and Jung Kyung Ho in Hospital Playlist
Yoo Yeon Seok played the role of Ahn Jung Won, an assistant professor of pediatric surgery, while Jeong Kyung Ho played the role of Kim Jun Wan, an associate professor of thoracic surgery, in Hospital Playlist. They were part of a tight-knit group of friends, known as the '99s, who received great love from fans. It's unclear if other main leads, including Ik Jun, Chae Song Hwa, and Yang Seok Hyung, will also appear in Resident Playbook.

The initial plan was for the show to premiere immediately following the finale of Queen of Tears, which stars Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won. However, due to the public backlash surrounding the doctor's strike, the production team was forced to suspend all promotional activities, putting the original premiere schedule on hold.
Boasting a talented cast, including Go Yoon Jung, Shin Si Ah, Han Ye Ji, Kang You Seok, and Jung Joon Won, the K-drama has been written and directed by Lee Min Soo.
