Alexa to the Rescue
Nikita saved herself and her niece from a troop of monkeys that entered their house by using the voice command of Alexa device.
Even though Nikita was frightened when the monkeys approached them, she noticed the Alexa device placed on the fridge. Without hesitation, she instructed Alexa to emit a dog barking sound. Instantly, the device produced a loud bark, frightening the monkeys, who quickly fled through the balcony.
The incident took place in the house of Pankaj Ojha in Basti¡¯s Awas Vikas Colony, where Nikita was playing with her 15-month-old niece.
Nikita recounted, ¡°A few guests visited our house and left the gate open. Monkeys entered the kitchen and started throwing things here and there. The kid was scared and so was I, but then I saw Alexa and asked it to play the sound of a dog. Due to that barking sound, the monkeys were scared and ran away.¡±
The clever utilisation of virtual assistant technology by a 13-year-old girl ensured that a troop of monkeys did not harm her 15-month-old niece.
Ojha emphasised that while technology is undoubtedly beneficial, children should use it under strict supervision.
