'Return To Work Or Quit': Elon Musk Quashes WFH, Gives Harsh Ultimatum To Tesla Employees
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reportedly sent out an email to all Tesla employees with an ultimatum to return to the office for work or quit, saying that working from home is no longer acceptable.
Seems like the world's richest person and billionaire Elon Musk has had enough of the 'work-from-home' phase. The Tesla CEO has sent a warning email to Tesla employees on the new work mandate.
While the world has been witness to how companies and employees have temporarily or even permanently shifted to the work-from-home module ever since covid hit the world in 2020, the Tesla CEO doesn't seem to be a fan of employees staying away from the office.
The Tesla chief has reportedly shot an elaborate email to all the employees, saying that remote work is no longer acceptable, urging staff to get back to the office or quit, as per an ET report.
In the email with the subject line "remote work is no longer acceptable", the 50-year-old billionaire reportedly said, "Anyone who is interested in working from home must be in the office for a minimum of 40 hours per week or leave the company".
"This is less than we ask of factory workers," Elon Musk wrote.
The richest person in the world, who has otherwise been busy with the proposed Twitter deal too, further said that if there are particularly exceptional contributors, making this impossible for the staff, then he will review and approve those exceptions directly.
"The office must be the main Tesla office, not a remote branch office unrelated to the job duties, for example being responsible for Fremont factory human relations, but having your office be in another state," the Tesla boss wrote in his mail which was sent to Tesla employees on Tuesday, as per ET report.

A Twitter user replied to this tweet saying the email was only for the 'executive staff' and not everyone, to which the person who tweeted the above email responded by saying that it applies to everyone, mentioning the follow-up email by Tesla CEO Musk.
