Sony¡¯s reality TV show Shark Tank India has been riding high on popularity in the country. From social media, entertainment headlines to even financial experts and entrepreneurs, the show has been the talk of the town ever since it started on December 20, 2021.
For the uninitiated, the show comprises seven judges testing aspiring entrepreneurs from India who pitch their business models to them and persuade them to invest money in their idea. Undoubtedly, the show¡¯s popularity has grown like wildfire all across India, with many terming this as an intelligent and innovative reality show, especially for entrepreneurs.
And with the show drawing close towards its end tomorrow, i.e. February 4, 2022, doesn't it make sense to look back at the learnings we get from it? Curious to know?
Read on as we decode some of the life and money lessons you can learn from Shark Tank India.
1. Respect Both Your Friends & Foes
If you have been closely following this show, you might have noticed this incident that shows the importance of respect.
When Sulay Lavsi, founder of Bummer, made a pitch and the judge Ashneer asked him ¡°you want an offer or you want some particular shark to give you an offer¡± he replied, ¡°I want an offer from anyone who can help me in terms of scaling.¡± Still, when he was asked again, he replied that I want an offer specifically from Aman or Vineeta. This sounded disrespectful towards other judges who might have otherwise put forth a good offer if he had been considerate and respected all sharks.
So, this incident shows that respect is the foundation for not just personal but professional relationships as well.
You should be respectful towards not just someone who seems to be your friend or can turn out to be helpful, but even your foes, competitors and those who may not seem ¡® beneficial¡¯ for you at present.
Being disrespectful towards anyone in itself can be viewed as a negative trait of you even if you are an excellent and intelligent entrepreneur.

2. Perseverance Goes A Long Way
Probably the primary reason why Shark Peyush Bansal invested ?10 lakh in the idea of Kamlesh Nanasaheb Ghumare, aka Jugadu Kamlesh, is his perseverance.
Kamlesh had arrived at the show with his partner Naru and pitched a well-thought idea to solve the problem of thousands of farmers with an affordable solution.
Despite not having enough money, resources or even a mechanical degree, Kamlesh's persistence is what resulted in shark Peyush investing in his ideas.
Peyush even posted about Kamlesh on his Linkedin, which was posted by his friend on Twitter as well, which he retweeted. Here¡¯s that tweet.
My friend @peyushbansal posted his thoughts on LinkedIn about what he got so excited about on seeing Juggadu Kamlesh on @sharktankindia. Why should twitter not know of this:)

Even Shark Tank India itself had tweeted to praise Kamlesh.

So, it's your perseverance and never give up attitude that will make you excel, come what may!
3. Passion Is What Separates You From The Ordinary
No matter which episode you pick of Shark Tank India, you will notice that the sharks (judges) in the show tend to inch towards investing in passionate entrepreneurs rather than merely their idea.
That is because passion doesn't die in one day. It's indeed passion that drives the desire to create change instead of waiting for it, and gives the edge to extraordinary people. because they have a strong sense of purpose and an intense desire to change the world.
So, whenever you wish to pitch an idea or start a business on your own, the recipe to success has to include a strong passion to realize your dream no matter what comes in your way!

4. Know How To Present Yourself
Shark Tank judges are not newbies in their respective industries or sectors. They have spent enough time and aced in their fields during their journey to create a big name.
So, presenting in front of them is in itself a big thing for all the budding entrepreneurs.
Even if you have a great business idea, not knowing how to present yourself can turn the whole game around. If you aren't well prepared with all the facts, figures, plan etc and on top of that the way you present it is not upto the mark, especially the lack of confidence, then it may be the end of the road in your pursuit to crack the deal and fetch investors.
