After almost seven long decades, the Tata group welcomed back Air India to its kitty after taking over it in the last week of January 2022.

Through this homecoming of Air India, the Tata group seems to have boosted its travel and tourism sector portfolio, which already has the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), AirAsia (India) and Vistara.

And that's not all. A group as big as the Tata group, which was founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1868, has a massive and diverse portfolio of companies under it, which many are unaware of.

IT, Steel & Automobile

For the automobile sector, Tata group has placed a firm foot through ownership of Tata Motors, Jaguar Land Rover and Tata AutoComp systems.

As far as the IT sector is concerned, the Tata group has a stronghold in technology through Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which is a global leader in IT, digital and business services. Tata group also has Tata Elxsi and Tata Digital to cover the design, technology and digital business services.
