Early Life and Education
Arunabh grew up in Dimna village, 10 km from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. His mother was a homemaker, and his father worked as an assistant at MGM Medical College in Jamshedpur. Arunabh was the middle child and the only son among three siblings. They lived in a two-room government quarter on the medical college campus in Dimna, which is now part of Jamshedpur.
A bright student, he began preparing for the IIT entrance exam in Class 8 and eventually secured admission to IIT Bombay and completed his master's in Metallurgy and Materials Science from there. Despite financial challenges, his family supported his education, and he graduated with flying colors.
The High-Paying Job
After completing his education, Arunabh Sinha landed a high-paying job with an annual salary of Rs 84 lakh, according to DNA India. However, he soon realised that his true passion lay elsewhere. In 2015, he married Gunjan Sinha and embarked on his entrepreneurial journey.
First Venture and Transition to Hospitality
Arunabh Sinha's first venture was Franglobal, which he eventually sold to Franchise India. He then entered the hospitality industry, joining Tribo Hotels, where he managed operations for budget hotels in Northern India. While working at the Hotel, Arunabh noticed that one of the biggest complaints from guests was about dirty clothes and stains on their bedding. After some market and product research, he started UClean in Delhi NCR in January 2017.
The Birth of UClean
Recognising the potential in the laundry business, Arunabh Sinha and his wife decided to start their own company. In August 2016, he left his job, and by January 2017, they had invested Rs 20 lakh to launch UClean. The company quickly grew in popularity, and today, it is valued at around Rs 110 crore, DNA India reported.
Rapid Expansion
By 2017, UClean had expanded to Hyderabad and Pune. Currently, UClean boasts over 350 stores in 104 cities across India and has extended its services to Bangladesh and Nepal. Plans are also underway to venture into Africa and the Middle East.

UClean provides a convenient door-step laundry service. Customers can place orders using a smartphone app, by calling the UClean call center, through the UClean WhatsApp bot, or by dropping off and picking up laundry at UClean stores.
The IIT Laundrywala
Arunabh Sinha is now affectionately known as the 'IIT Laundrywala'. His company, UClean, holds the distinction of being the fastest brand in India's history to reach 200 franchises.
