When Harsh Goenka Revealed Jimmy Tata's Humble Lifestyle

The chairman of RPG Group, Harsh Goenka, once provided further details about Ratan Tata's younger brother Jimmy Tata's modest way of life. Goenka disclosed that Jimmy resides in a two-bedroom apartment in a tweet. According to Times of India, the apartment is situated on the sixth floor of Hampton Court in Colaba, Mumbai. Harsh also revealed that, in contrast to Ratan Tata, Jimmy is a very skilled squash player and has never had an interest in business.

However, Jimmy Tata reportedly holds sizable stakes in a number of Tata Group businesses, according to Mint. Indian Hotels, Tata Chemicals, TCS, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, and Tata Sons are all included in this. Jimmy Tata is a trustee of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust, as reported by the Times of India. Following the death of his father Naval Tata in 1989, and in compliance with his wishes, he inherited this role. Jimmy is a knowledgeable and engaged member who stays up to date on corporate developments within the Tata Group.

Regarding his modest way of life, the Times of India reports that Jimmy Tata, despite his considerable wealth, doesn't own a cell phone and instead stays up to date on fashion through books and newspapers. There are rumors that he doesn't have a secretary and doesn't often leave his apartment. ET reported that Jimmy Tata previously told TOI that he began his career with the Tata Group, specifically in the textile industry, working under his father. However, the company later encountered difficulties.
