Who would you place your bet on to come up with a car that can run on roads and then transition into water as well? Tesla seems a worthy name, with the American auto maker already having broken several conceptions of a real-world car. Just to strengthen the claim, know that the company already has a design for such a vehicle.
If it was to be ever built, ¡®electric submarine¡¯ would be an apt name for the vehicle. And apparently Tesla CEO Elon Musk has already thought on that, to the point that the company has a design ready for it. Musk reportedly mentioned about the design during the company¡¯s annual shareholder¡¯s meeting Tuesday in Mountain View, Calif.
The design unveil came as an answer to a question put up by one of the shareholders. The shareholder had asked whether Tesla had ever considered building an aquatic car, meaning a vehicle that could travel on roads as well as in water.

Musk being Musk did not shy away from the opportunity to present what had only been in his mind till the time. Musk¡¯s design is based on the Lotus Esprit, a sports car that Musk already owns. ¡°I thought that was like the coolest thing,¡± Musk said.
Musk has not just come up with a design. Apparently the tech billionaire has put a lot of thought into it as a viable and sell-able?product. The Tesla CEO suggested that while the aquatic car is not technically impossible, the market for it would be very small. A ¡°small, but enthusiastic¡± market, the way he puts it.
He also mentioned that coming up with a real vehicle like that can prove to be a distraction for the company for now. But does that mean that we will never see such a vehicle from Tesla¡¯s production lines? Can¡¯t say ¡°never¡±.
