Paul Walker is remembered the world over as an avid enthusiast of high-performance vehicles. The Fast & Furious star has been known to share his love for cars and bikes both on and off the screen. So naturally, it does not come as a surprise that the renowned actor had a very valuable collection of wheels in his garage. Just how valuable? Upwards of Rs 16.4 crore.
That is, as per the recent Barrett-Jackson auction held in Scottsdale, Arizona. Most but not all of Paul Walker¡¯s collection of vehicles went up for auction at the event recently, garnering a total of $2,333,450 in sales as per the CEO of Barrett-Jackson, Craig Jackson.
The collection comprised of a total of 21 vehicles, including cars, bikes and even trucks. The auction that was held from January 14 to 18 saw a series of five white BMW M3 Lightweight Editions owned by Paul Walker being auctioned. The top earner in the collection was a 1995 E36, that went for a total of $385,000 (Rs 2.74 crore).
All the earnings from the auction will be forwarded to a trust for Paul Walker¡¯s daughter, Meadow Rain Walker, who is now 21 years of age. Commemorating Walker post the auction, Jackson said ¡°Paul was a racer at heart. We¡¯re told Paul spent countless hours on the track perfecting his racing skills. The question of whether he intended to build a racing team is something we may never know. When Paul purchased the five BMW M3 Lightweights, he envisioned them as his own investment vehicle.¡±
As luck would have it, the M3¡¯s did turn out to be an investment after all. Even though Walker still lives on in the memories of many post his death, such assets once owned by the actor now equate to an actual monetary support that will come in handy for his family. For the vehicles that still hold emotional value to the family, Meadow has kept them with herself for now.
