Renault had since long confirmed an electric version of its entry level offering - Kwid in India. Termed as the K-ZE, the vehicle will now be making its debut in the Chinese market in the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show. However, it will not be under the same branding. In China, the electric Kwid will make its way as the Venucia E30 EV.
For those unaware, Venucia is a Chinese brand operating within the country since its inception back in 2012 by Dongfeng and Nissan. Over the years, the brand came to be a standalone company, focussing on passenger cars. The Venucia E30 EV will form a part of the offerings by Dongfeng Motors, the JV partner of Renault-Nissan.

The firm has now released the first image of the upcoming Venucia E30 EV, which is based on the Renault Kwid EV. The vehicle shares almost all of its body panels, interior, running gear and even the underpinnings with the Renault Kwid. What differs though, are the front bumper, grille as well as the headlight design.
As can be deduced from the image, the Venucia E30 EV will come with blue highlights on front bumper and side skirts. The company has not announced any of the information around the vehicle though, like that of its powertrain. But since it is based on the similar platform as the Kwid EV, we can expect it to offer a range of 250 km on a single charge, as per New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) standards.
The Venucia E30 EV will make its debut alongside the Kwid K-ZE at the Shanghai Auto Show. So even though we will know how the Kwid EV will be, the Venucia E30 EV provides a valuable insight into what Renault might have in store for us. And considering the electric car is supposed to hit the Indian market soon, as confirmed by the company, this will be one exciting unveil to look out for.
