According to advertisements on Monday on its LinkedIn page, the electric vehicle company sought candidates for 13 roles, including one customer-facing and the other for back-end jobs.?
The hiring by Tesla Inc. in India is a sign that the company plans to enter the market shortly after Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk and PM Narendra Modi meet up.
As per the LinkedIn post, the EV maker firm is planning to hire service technicians and other advisory roles in Mumbai and Delhi, while the rest of the openings were for customer engagement managers and delivery operations specialists, particularly in Mumbai.?
This is not the first time Tesla has engaged in India; before this, the company had engaged on and off for years. The car-making firm had stayed away from the South Asian countries over concerns linked with high import duties.?
India's electric vehicle market is budding as compared to countries like China that offer a business for Tesla to check slowing sales after it posted its first annual drop in EV sales in the last 10 years.?
While the electric car sales in India approached around 100,000 units the previous year as compared to China's 11 million.?
