Despite being discovered some 2 years ago, the actual length of the cave was revealed by a recent expedition between February 5 and March 1, 2018. The said expedition was led by Brian Daly Kharpran.
The underground cavern is nearly? 6,000 metres longer than Cueva Del Saman in Edo Zulia - the world record-holder until now.??
¡°This sandstone cave has also become India¡¯s second longest cave in the general category after the limestone Krem Liat Prah-Umim-Labit system measuring a little over 31 km in Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya,¡± said Kharpran, a recipient of the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award in 2002, reports Northeast Now.?
Because of its unique features, obscurity and history, Krem Puri is attracting many palaeontologists from across the world, who are calling it fairy-cave. The cave comes with fossils of dinosaurs, especially the Mosasaurus - a giant reptile.??
?¡°Overall, the 2018 expedition explored and mapped 22.8km of new cave passages,¡± said Kharpran, who has been exploring and mapping caves since 1992.
Not sure how safe this place is for tourist and locals, but it is sure that it's a gem for travellers.?
