After Days Of Speculation, Samantha Prabhu Confirms Playing Priyanka Chopra's Mother In 'Citadel'
In the Indian adaptation of the Citadel universe, the global-event series from Prime Video, and the Russo Brothers' AGBO, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will co-star with Varun Dhawan.?
It has now been confirmed that Samantha Ruth Prabhu will play Priyanka Chopra's mother in Citadel India.
Speaking to E-Times, an insider said, ¡°The international and Indian versions of Citadel are set in two different eras. Priyanka¡¯s character is a child in Samantha¡¯s Citadel. It¡¯s like saying Tabu played Irrfan Khan¡¯s mother in Life Of Pi. They didn¡¯t even meet during the shooting.¡±?
Samantha also confirmed to the publication that she will sure be playing Peecee's mother.
Varun Dhawan's Cameo In Citadel
Varun Dhawan made his worldwide acting debut in Priyanka and Richard's Citadel, for the uninitiated.?
In the sixth episode, Nadia Sinh, played by Priyanka Chopra, conceals the fact that she is pregnant with Mason Kane's child, portrayed by Richard Madden.
She calls the terrorist Rahi Gambhir in the flashback from eight years ago in an effort to move to Spain after learning of her pregnancy. She admits that Gambhir is indeed her father when questioned about it by Mason and Osy Ikhile (Carter Spence). He aids her in escaping Citadel so she can relocate to Spain, and he is played by Paul Bazely. It's interesting to note that Varun Dhawan himself dubbed the call that occurs in the episode. When Varun is thanked in the closing credits, his cameo is verified.
The showrunners and directors of the untitled Indian-based Citadel series are the well-known creative team Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK).?
Together with Raj & DK, Sita R. Menon wrote the desi installment. The unit will travel to foreign locations like Serbia and South Africa after filming in Mumbai and North India.?
?Under their production company D2R Films, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK will also act as the show's executive producers. Production on the Indian Original and all other series set in the global Citadel universe is overseen by AGBO's Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and David Weil (Hunters). The show is produced by D2R Films and Amazon Studios.
Citadel, starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, has been officially renewed for a second season by Prime Video. The actor also announced the news on Instagram, encouraging fans to watch all episodes of the series, which are now available to watch online.
