The story follows 9-year-old Anuja, who works alongside her older sister Palak in a small garment factory.?
It explores a pivotal moment in Anuja's life when she must make a choice that could shape her future and her family's well-being.
Mindy Kaling describes the film as "powerful, hopeful, and full of life, just like the incredible young girls it represents."

Anuja has been shortlisted for a nomination in the Best Live Action Short Film category at the 97th Academy Awards.
Written and directed by Adam J. Graves, Anuja boasts an impressive team of producers, including Suchitra Mattai, Mindy Kaling, Guneet Monga Kapoor, Krushan Naik, Aaron Kopp, Devananda Graves, Michael Graves, Ksheetij Saini, and Alexandra Blaney. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Anita Bhatia serve as Executive Producers, with Archana Jain, Susan MacLaury, and Albie Hecht as Co-Executive Producers.
The film was created in collaboration with the Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT), a nonprofit established by the family of acclaimed director Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding), SHINE GLOBAL, the award-winning production company behind War/Dance (2007) and Inocente (2012), and Krushan Naik Films.
