The production company's adaptation of Gosho Aoyama's manga from the late 1980s, Yaiba: Samurai Legend, has been formally announced to debut on the platform in April 2025. As Netflix and Hulu have acquired the distribution rights for YAIBA: Samurai Legend, viewers in the US, Canada, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand will soon be able to enjoy the most recent iteration of the cult favorite. Both platforms will have episodes on the first day after they premiere on Japan's Nippon TV, however Hulu will only stream the series in specific regions. Details about its release in India are awaited.
Each episode is directed by Takahiro Hasui, while the screenplays are written by Touko Machida. Yoshimichi Kameda is the principal animation director and character designer for the Yaiba remake. The Japanese voice cast includes Manaka Iwami and seasoned performers like Minami Takayama as Yaiba.
According to Comicbook, Yaiba chronicles the adventures of Yaiba Kurogane, a young man whose only ambition is to become a warrior. Yaiba sets out to become a great warrior after finding himself in a busy metropolis. He encounters many opponents along the road, including Takeshi Onimaru, a dangerous high school student.
