Brinda's adoptive parents were aware of this, but she never had the opportunity to learn the truth about her past. Now that things had gotten too far, Brinda had no choice except to confront Satya.
Satya (the long-lost brother of Brinda) was brought up in a village that believed in and followed superstitious practices. Satya was separated from his family because of a priest who asked his family to sacrifice his sister. In order to run away from the pressure, his mother managed to save Satya's sister and sent her away in a truck, but the mother and Satya were left behind, and everybody got separated from each other.
Satya, in his aggression, burned down his own village, and in return, he had to spend years in jail, where he met Thakur.

Rest in the story; it was clear how Satya's brilliance caught Raghu's attention (Brinda's adopted father).
But in all this backstory, while Brinda was chasing the murders that were initiated by superstitions, how did Satya come into the picture? Did Brinda kill Satya?
Brinda somehow manages to convince Satya that she is his long-lost sister. With the troublesome childhood, Satya had embarked on a mission to end religion and religious people, as he thought it was religion only that he lost his sister.
Brinda, in the end scenes, tries to convince him that she is his sister and that since she is alive, he should stop taking revenge for her death from religious people. After so much convincing, Satya still did not want to stop, and Brinda had to fire him.
