Many raised objections after the release of Rana and Venkatesh Daggubati¡¯s web series Rana Naidu as they felt it had sleazy and obscene content, others couldn¡¯t stop raving about the entertaining plot.?
For the longest time, digital platforms had no outside interference in terms of liberty of content, recently, the government has expressed intent to regulate content.?Not pin-pointing to this one show in particular but a longer debate has been ongoing over the need for censorship even on OTT. Minister of Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur has also publicly hinted that new regulations will be introduced sooner rather than later.?
Rana Daggubati took to Twitter to make the official announcement:
The first season received appreciation globally and in India, with Indian and international audiences hooked to the characters, their conflicts, and the chaos that ensues when strong personalities from the seedy underbelly of power and celebrity clash with each other.
