If you were unable to see the psychological action movie "Naane Varuven," starring Dhanush, in theatres, don't worry; it will be having its OTT debut tomorrow ie October 27.
On September 29, the Tamil movie, which was helmed by Selvaraghavan, the brother of Dhanush, opened in theatres all over the world. Dhanush and Selva have now worked together five times, with their previous projects including Thulluvadho Ilamai, Kadhal Kondein, Pudhupettai, and Mayakkam Yenna.?

Critics gave the movie a variety of ratings. While some hailed it as a "wonderful film," others were let down by the film's second half.
This movie didn't even have a trailer release, but it turned out to be a good decision because it allowed the movie to have the desired effect and greatly surprise the audience. In a welcome change from the films he has been producing, Selvaraghavan gave us his best work in recent years with this laudable thriller.
The plot of Naane Varuven concerns a d¨¦j¨¤ vu encounter between two identical twins. After Kodi and Pattas, Dhanush makes an appearance in a dual role for the third time. The protagonist of the story is Prabhu, a typical suburbanite who values his family above anything else. When his daughter Satya becomes possessed by the ghost of a little boy, his life is completely flipped upside down.
The story is based on Prabhu and Kathir, identical twin brothers. While Prabhu is a nice person, Kathir has always caused trouble, garnering his father's fury since he gets weary of having to correct him all the time. When Kathir assaults the next-door child, their father binds Kathir to a tree in the backyard.?
Overnight, Kathir vanishes and is presumed to have been abducted by an unidentified crazy individual, who is later identified as a serial killer who preys on his victims in the bush. Kathir murders him and goes back to his house, where he keeps acting erratically. By repeatedly stabbing his father, Kathir kills him while imprisoning Prabhu inside a wooden box. Instead of turning him into the police, Kathir's mother turns to a local saint for assistance. It will be interesting to see how the plot develops and whether Prabhu and Kathir eventually cross paths.
Dhanush has changed what a hero should be with his exceptionally talented performances. In masala films, he has played both big hero roles as well as unusual and experimental ones.
His second film, Kaadhal Kondein, which marked his brother Selvaraghavan's directing debut in 2003, was a commercial success. This was also Dhanush's significant Tamil cinema debut. The film was well-received by both critics and viewers when it was released. Fans had been hoping for magic since Naane Varuven marked the brothers' reunion. The movie strives to combine several genres, and it is successful in making the mixture work.
The investigation into psychopaths by Naane Varuven is fascinating and has a condensed running time and clear script. We do agree with the criticism that the second half of the movie looks predictable because it deals with themes of good and evil, light and darkness, god and the devil, and other interesting ideas. However, we do think that the first half of the movie did a great job of setting up an intriguing premise.
Selvaraghavan is a brilliant storyteller, especially when he's in the zone, and there are plenty of terrifying scenes in the first half to demonstrate this. When the film hits the second half, it feels largely predictable, and there's a sense of urgency in ending the plot without even having one invest in the brothers' dispute. Naane Varuven would have worked even better if the second half had made the same impact as the first.
Dhanush's co-stars include Indhuja Ravichandran, Elli AvrRam, and Prabhu, and the music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Elli AvrRam, who astonished Tamil viewers with her performance in the newly released Tamil film 'Naane Varuven,' starring actor Dhanush, revealed that her desire is to work in a film with ace director Selvaraghavan with a female-oriented narrative.
As Reported by IANS, the actress Elli said, "The way Selvaraghavan directs is simply fantastic. He makes you discover yourself as an actor, be it a physical scene or an emotional scene."?
She further added, "It is a pleasure to work with a filmmaker who can actually see what you are capable of - even those skills that you are unaware of yourself. I have grown so much more as an actor after working with Selvaraghavan."?
Elli concluded her statement, "Selvaraghavan would perform the scene and show you how it is done. He is a genius."
On Saturday, Amazon Prime Video posted the announcement on its official Twitter account with the caption "A war between the light and the shadow #NaaneVaruvenOnPrime, Oct 27," the streamer said in a tweet.
