After a long wait, the highly-anticipated Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer sci-fi movie?Kalki 2898 AD has finally been released. The early reviews of the movie are out and fans are hailing this Nag Ashwin directorial as a visual treat.?
Also starring Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles, the story of the film has been inspired by?the Sanskrit texts including Kalki Puran by sage Agastya and Mahabharata by Ved Vyas. As the film hits the theatres today, here's all you need to know about its?OTT rights and release.?
The Hindi version of the film will be released on Netflix as the streaming platform has already bought the right to the film for a whopping Rs 175 crore. If you wish to watch the movie in South languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, you can stream the film on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical release as the rights are with the OTT platform which it bought for?Rs 200 crore,
Kalki 2898 AD OTT release date hasn't been announced as of yet.?It should not be streamed until at least two months after its theatrical release. An official announcement on the same is however awaited.

If the reports are to be believed, the film is made on a budget of Rs?600 crore (US$72 million). A significant amount out of this has been spent on VFX.?The sci-fi movie, which promises to transport audiences to a world never seen before in Indian cinema, is directed by Nag Ashwin of Mahanati fame.

The Prabhas and Deepika starrer narrates the story of the contemporary incarnation of Lord Vishnu, tasked with safeguarding Earth from dark forces.?
While talking about the film, Amitabh Bachchan told PTI, "When Nag (Ashwin) came and explained the idea to me. After he left, I was thinking¡ It was absolutely something outrageous.?It¡¯s just unbelievable to have somebody conceive a project which is so futuristic."

"During the making of the film, we realised that no matter what he (director) thought of, he actually got all the material, all the effects, every kind of visual or vision that he had and that really has been an amazing experience for me. To be just a part of it has been an experience I¡¯ll never forget," adds Bachchan who essays the role of Ashwathhama.?
