Obama's ¡®Leave The World Behind¡¯ Triggers Criticism Over Negative Comment About White People
Former US President Barack Obama is coming under fire for movie Leave the World Behind, which was made by his production house Higher Ground. The movie, which is now available on Netflix, shows two families dealing with an approaching apocalypse amid a national blackout.?
One particular sequence in the film has generated a long debate. A Black father-daughter pair is shown laying on the bed, and the daughter says "I'm sorry asking you to remember that if the world falls apart, trust should not be doled out easily to anyone, especially white people."?
?Reacting to this, one wrote, ¡°Leave the world behind" is another movie that only sheltered white folks will find eye opening or frightening. Should've watched the new Godzilla movie.¡±
Another added, ¡°Leave The World Behind produced by the Obamas. Absolute disgrace .They couldn't help themselves by race baiting a line saying white people can't be trusted.¡±
A third added, ¡°No such thing as Anglo culture or European culture then? Oh that's right we're white so we must be bad, culturless and not to be trusted - just like the Obama movie Leave the World Behind says.¡±
A fourth went on to add, ¡°Have you watched Leave the World Behind yet? Scary on so many levels because it could happen, but the white and Patriot hatred is sickening.? Disappointed in these prominent actors for taking the bait.¡±

The post-apocalyptic thriller from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail, starring Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, and Ethan Hawke, follows the tale of two families struggling to survive after an unexplained darkness. There is just one certainty: Things will never return to normal. The deer surrounding the families' Long Island refuge are behaving strangely, and technology seems to be malfunctioning suspiciously.
